On the ferry: Stockholm - Helsinki
I was happier that I looked on this photo, just so that you know, I mean, I have my Tiramisu-dessert in front of me!
when we came back to our cabin, after the brazilian "midnight-show" our cat was waiting for us, desperately!give mummy a kiss!
roadtrip in Finland: Helsinki-Joensuu (approx. 500km)
this is "pirakka", "pirog" or a kind of pie, that is filled with porrigde-rice and that we eat with eggbutter- and it is really good and typically finnish
we stopped at a gas-station to take our cat Sussi on "a walk" because she hated sitting in the car..
this pitstop "Kägöne" is in the middle of nowhere, really close to the russian border and we love to stop here and take a trip down to the lake
the good thing when you arrive at Kägöne is that you know that it is just 1,5hours until we reach our house :)
arriving after a six hour drive , oh and it was beautiful
Koli
50 km from our house is Koli. It's the name of the national parc and the remainings of a mountain (the Karelid mountaine) that, some 2 000 000 years ago rivalled with the modern Himalayans. Today the highest point is only 347 m above sea-level. And it is really beautiful here
we found these russian newspapers and realised that they are growing trees from them
the skii-lift is a big tourist-attraction but since the touristseason was over, it was not moving at all

Our summerhouse
I usually don't bring so much clothes when I come here, because the attic is filled with old clothing from mom and her sisters. I found these beige tights, a colorful scarve and some ugly-cute feet-warmers ;) (mockasiner)
These are my mothers and my aunts paintings from their childhood.
Everything is so old-fashioned here..to cook some food our even to boil water - we need to heat the stove with pieces of wood...these last photos are from the oven. We have to wait until all the woods are burnt down and the only thing left inside is the heat, then it's okey to bake some bread or finnish "pirakka" It's a really nice and warm feeling to live in this house for a couple of weeks every summer, to get the feeling of how my mother lived when she was a child. To not have an electric/gas kitchen and cook or heat the house in this way is really amazing.
